Easy to reach, hard to forget.

Abruzzo is easily accessible by air, with several international and domestic flight options available. The closest airports are Rome and Pescara, both of which offer excellent connections to the central Apennines.
Rome Fiumicino Airport - Leonardo da Vinci (FCO) Italy's largest airport and is only a 2.30-hour drive away. It offers several intercontinental flights and advanced services, as well as quick connections to central Rome by train in 30 minutes.
Rome Ciampino Airport (CIA) Served mainly by low-cost airlines. It offers frequent flights to and from major European cities. It is a two-hour drive from Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park.
Abruzzo Airport - Pescara (PSR) Is a smaller but well-connected airport with flights to London Stansted, Brussels, Milan and Turin, as well as other European destinations. It is a one-and-a-half-hour drive from the Abruzzo National Park and a 30-minute drive from the Majella National Park.
If you're arriving by plane, you can take the Prontobus service, which offers direct connections to Avezzano Terminal: a meeting point for some of our tours and a hub for TuaAbruzzo buses.

Reaching Abruzzo by train is a comfortable and convenient choice. Train connections are well developed, with trains from many Italian and European cities.
All trains in Italy can be booked easily via the official Ferrovie dello Stato website, allowing you to plan your journey in advance.
Many of our journeys start at Avezzano Terminal, the nearest and most convenient station.
The terminal can also be easily reached by the Prontobus and LineaRoma services, which offer numerous daily departures from Roma Tiburtina station.

Once you leave the Adriatic coast behind, the wild and unspoilt beauty of the Abruzzo hinterland is revealed. Although it does require some planning, the public bus transport system is well developed.
TuaAbruzzo is the main network for internal connections and public transport in the region, including transfers to Pescasseroli, where our office is located.
From Rome, Prontobus and LineaRoma offer the most efficient services, with numerous trips to Avezzano every day of the week. From Naples, SatamBus is preferable, with useful stops at Castel di Sangro and Sulmona. From Pescara and its airport, take the Prontobus service, which stops at the Avezzano terminal.
Unfortunately, the TuaAbruzzo service only allows you to view travel solutions 15 days before the chosen date. Contact us if you need to plan your trip further in advance.

Without a doubt, the car is the most flexible way to explore Abruzzo and visit its various protected areas.
The roads are generally well maintained, even in winter, and there is little traffic.
You can easily rent a car at major Italian airports and in large cities from companies such as Sixt, Hertz, Avis and Europcar.
When driving, remember to reduce your speed in areas where there might be wildlife and take in the breathtaking views that Abruzzo has to offer.
