.
🇬🇧 During the five years of the multimedia project Forestbeat, in the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park we learned that each centuries-old beech is a habitat in itself, a condominium which is crowded from the tip of its roots to the last of its branches. Not even two beech trees are the same. The trees may seem similar in shape and size, the inhabitants of the forest know well on which trees they build their nest or where to look for food, which ones they choose for a night shelter, where they leave their scent or scratch their back. Like this, beeches can also become joints for communication between different species and different individuals.

.
🇬🇧 The varied territory and lovely landscape, the huge number of old and local roads, make cycling tourism probably the most complete and penetrating way to explore and understand this region. Pedalling along the many itineraries offered by the rugged mountains, around the lakes or along the flourishing torrent banks, through solemn beech woods or the heaths of infinite highlands, emotions will run strong and memorable, not only for the neophyte butalso for the more skilled and “tough” cyclist. See next tours on www.wildlifeadventures.it 🍄🍂.

.
.
🇬🇧 The sun has just set behind the crest and the forest slowly melts into the shadows. In the progressing darkness, you rapidly find yourself immersed in the bluish and undefined atmosphere of the nightfall. However, it is worth waiting for a little bit longer before you turn on your torch, to enjoy the uncertainty of this monochromatic world, of which the boundaries and points of reference become less sharp and obvious. The mating season of deer goes on ♥️.

.
.
🇬🇧 The first weekend of #October we will have a long and exciting hike on the ridge of one of the least frequented and wildest areas of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park. A path that will take us back in time near the cave of the bloodthirsty bandit Domenico Fuoco. He died near the Mount Meta in the night between 17th and 18th of August 1870, in the German trenches that can still be observed on the ridge of Mount Mare and Mount Marrone. These mountains were witnesses of the advance of “Corpo Italiano di Liberazione” (Italian army corp during the second world war) in the spring of 1944 and they hosted the shelter of Charles Moulin. He was a singular painter who decided to leave Paris in the first years of 1900; he was a famed painter, but he decided to leave almost completely alone on the peaks of these mountains.

🇬🇧 "It was a joy, though, to get down into the valley and lose sight of all that open sky space underneath everything and finally, as it got graying five o'clocking, about a hundred yards from the other boys and walking alone, to just pick my way singing and thinking along the little black cruds of a deer trail through the rocks, no call to think or look ahead or worry, just follow the little balls of deer crud with your eyes cast down and enjoy life” (Jack Kerouac)
